MIDS Awards
The Massachusetts Infectious Diseases Society recognizes the outstanding contributions of its members. Every year MIDS grants awards to certain members of the Society based on criteria approved by the MIDS board. For the fellow awards (research and clinical), nominations are solicited every year from the program directors based on the award criteria. For the Kaplan society award, an outstanding MIDS member is chosen by the MIDS board based on the member's contribution to the field of infectious diseases and to the Society.

Kass Award
The Edward H. Kass Clinical Award is given annually to one fellow from each of the Massachusetts training programs in infectious diseases.
The fellows are selected by their sponsoring institutions in recognition of attributes representing the ideals of infectious disease clinical practice, including clinical acumen, commitment to care, and advocacy for patients and public health.
